get your business in shape

I'm really excited to get going on a new project that I have wanted to share with you for a while now.  Later this month I will be launching a business guidance program called Shape and today I would love to chat with you a little more about it and hear what you have to say!

Have you needed a little guidance with your shop, or are you starting a business and need a helping hand with where to start?  How about taking your hard work and turning it into a brand?  That's where I come in!  With just a bit of guidance I'm going to show you where and how to turn things around and whip your business into shape!

What I need from you is just a little bit of input so I can do some more fine tuning before the launch.  I would love to know what types of things you are looking for when it comes to business!  Where to start, what platform to use for your shop, branding guides, supply resources.. whats on your mind?  If you are shy leave it anonymously and I will try to touch on it if its relevant to this program!  Thanks for your help xo

  3. Accounting... I also am running more than one business and project at the moment.. how to keep all those books clean, simple and organized? Is there one main recommended Accounting software that can handle all 3? Ugh.. I'm an art kid, not an accountant.. sigh.

    1. I'm not sure what Heather uses, but I recommend Outright because it's simple and you can link it to your Paypal, Etsy, etc. http://outright.com/ =]

  5. I am designing blogs and have so many questions about if I need to claim this extra income on my taxes this year? Any information on that would be amazingggg!

    1. There are things you need to claim as its income, but there are limits as to when you need to claim them. You are a military wife living abroad so I'm not sure what exemptions there are, but I'm going to look into this a little more for you just in case (& i would love to know this anyways)!

  7. Audience building, effective use of social media with marketing, tips on connecting with other handmade owners & bloggers to build community.
Audience building has been tough. & family & friends always want "deals, discounts, or freebies".

    1. I'm for sure touching on the family/friends deal topic- its a personal choice, but can hurt your business in the long run if done too often/too much!

  9. I would also love to hear more about accounting information. Or about putting yourself out there, approaching others with your work instead of waiting for them to approach you.

    1. I will for sure touch on this. One thing about approaching others is really having a positive mindset, since the worse that can happen is no answer at all or a no. From there you move on and try again, but at least you tried!

  16. Super excited for you and this new venture! I have to thank you for being such a motivator and inspirator to me, and I am sure many others. I have found myself stepping out of my "box" and just going for it as a blogger, "Balls to the wall" as they say. And I have to thank you for a lot of that courage that I have newly found.
I recently put my shop on the back burner to go full force with the blog, but I am looking forward to getting back up and going. And using the tools you offer to help with that!
    Thanks Love!
