road trip: house hunting mission

We took a few days off and headed north to visit Portland and hopefully get a better idea of what area we want to live in and find some prospective homes.  I won't lie, when I got back home tonight I was a little bummed.  Sure, I had a great weekend with the husband- I even lost my IKEA virginity- but we didn't find anything remotely close to some of our desired neighborhoods we want (with the amenities we need and within our budget).  Coming back to Grants Pass, where every day I don't want to be here, made it that much harder.

Yes, I'm sharing a photo of IKEA- I was excited.  I have a long list of things I haven't done, that most bloggers do (like ikea shopping and macaroon eating) and I just crossed this bad boy off!

Between driving from neighborhood to neighborhood, we consumed enough caffeine to open our own coffee stand and found some new shops we can't wait to visit again. Brandon wasn't as familiar with Portland as I am so it was fun to show him the city the way I see & love it and I think he has a better understanding for why I want to be there so badly.

Don't get me wrong, I've very thankful for all the things we have been able to accomplish on this little adventure of ours since moving out of our house in October.  I just hate the {in-between} phase and can't wait to get settled somewhere new!
