mani-monday: mint giveaway

With the beauty industry full of choices, shades and brands it can sometimes be hard to stand out when you are one of the businesses trying to compete.  Mint is in a league of its own with amazing polish made right here in the USA featuring a toxin free ingredient list and a rainbow of beautiful colors to choose from.  I've been lucky to work with Greta and try her amazing polishes and you can catch a review by Heather over on Glitter and Gloss today, not to mention Amy of At the Pink of Perfection showed off the one coat quality that this polish claims to have. Which believe me, it amazingly does!
Mint originated after the discovery that nail polish products are still considered Hazardous Waste in counties like Los Angeles. The idea that we are coating our nails with something that we can’t safely put in the trash was dumbfounding, especially considering Proposition 65, California’s Toxic Enforcement Act. Having always been a polish junkie, Greta could never find the perfect non-toxic brand that reached bottle color within one coat and dried fast enough to accommodate her busy lifestyle. Mint is that perfect polish. She created the Mint formula to be thinner than most varnishes, allowing you to use less polish to coat every nail and also allowing the polish to dry faster than most. Even though the formula is thin, it's highly pigmented and will reach bottle color within one coat*. Mint is also 100% American made - down to their boxes and are not tested on animals!

*Unless advertised as a sheer - Bellini Babe, Ribbon Dancer.

I wanted to find out just a little more about Mint besides their amazing start up story and care for the environment.  I shot over some questions to Greta to get the scoop on her inspiration and plans for the company within the next year.

What is one of your favorite parts in running Mint?
My favorite part of having Mint is definitely the challenges and creativity that goes along with having a small business in such a fiercely competitive market. One must be innovative in order to stay afloat, and I have really enjoyed the challenge. When customer's have a positive response to the product, it hits at a personal level and makes all my hard work worth it.

Where would you like to see Mint go in the next year or so?
Right now we are focusing on retail - hopefully you will be seeing Mint products within local boutiques nationwide before year's end. We are also working on a holiday collection that will feature 1 to 2 new products, and also a larger collection to be introduced sometime in 2013.
