Mani-Monday: saran wrap nail art

Another week means another try at something pretty.  Mani-Monday isn't just about polishing your nails, its about taking time out of your day to do something small for yourself.  Paint your own nails, browse some polish inspiration online, go get a Pedi with a girlfriend or paint your daughters toes.. Bring some color into your life & have fun being a girl.

One of my favorite paper designers is Heidi Swapp, so it was only fitting to be inspired by her Sugar Chic Beautiful collection for my nails.  I'm not good at actual nail art drawing so the next best thing- Saran Wrap.
For this project you will want-

Nail Polish Colors 3-5 choices
Saran Wrap (the tutorials I've seen say to just crumple up in a wad...yep. wad)
Covered work area
Top coat & stuff to clean around your nail (polish remover & qtip)
-Apply base coat - i used gold so it added a shimmer peekaboo
-Dab your saran wrap into darkest color
-Remove any access by blotting on paper
(I would advice against using paper towel because of the fibers)
-Tap onto nail in desired effect - I tapped each nail 2-3x

Repeat the steps above for as many nails as you want this on. It will be messy, but thats the fun artsy part.  Allow to dry a bit then apply a top coat and clean the excess off the sides of your nail beds.  Bam- pretty nails!

NOW ITS YOUR TURN!

The link up Heather & I host is open Monday-Friday and we would love to invite you to join in.  If you don't have a post ready (or don't blog) use hashtag #maniparty on twitter or instagram to join in on the fun or post a photo on facebook and tag either of us!

Each week we choose a favorite from the links ups and this week I wanted to pick something nail polish related, because I just loved the idea so much.  This post by Unwritten showed you how to add a little pretty to your keys, this is perfect to find your keys in a hurry or buy popping a key on a necklace for a quick accessory!
