ornament re-vamp

Today I'm showing you some extremely inexpensive & easy ways to revamp those clear bulbs..
although lovely when clear, there are endless things you can do with them.  *ENJOY*

All of the supplies in this tutorial were things I had on hand
and are easily available at Dollar Tree or any Craft Store.
{the rice was from my pantry, the tree sprigs from my backyard}
The supplies you see are cheap, but make for big impact!

GLITTER BULBS

Now lets take the glitter to the inside, for this one all you need is sequin confetti and the clear bulb.
I used 3 different colors, poured them all in and took my spray adhesive and lightly sprayed in just a tiny bit.
Next put the bulb top back on, shake it up and some of the confetti will stick to the sides!

POM POM BULBS
Take some pom poms and fill up a bulb... seriously that easy!

NATURAL WINTER BULBS
I saw some amazing natural bulbs filled with rice, twigs & wax shavings at a local store recently.
For this one I simply ran outside grabbed a few tree sprigs & poured in a little bit of wild rice into the bulb.
I love the natural looks of these, however on a tree they may be heavy!

CREPE PAPER BULBS
These ones are insanely easy and would be wonderful in any color!
Take a strip of crepe paper, cut into smaller strips and place in the bulb.

FABRIC & YARN BULBS
These were even easier then the others, I had some yarn and fabric scraps laying around
and these made the perfect crafty inspired ornaments.

Re-vamping bulbs can be an inexpensive way to spruce things up and really you can use these any time of year for any holiday, occasion or just general decor!

  1. Love these! I've been wanting to do this, and just haven't. Next year maybe? haha!
So I'm going through regretsy right now... people are disgusting. I am not sure what makes them think they can sell certain things...

These are all so pretty! I love every one. I made something like this last year accept we used these paint products {at least I think it was paint} and we'd mix it in the bulb so there'd be tons of colors inside the bulb.

  8. A less messy way of doing the glitter bulbs is to put a little bit of pledge inside the bulb and then put the glitter inside! :) cute ideas though
