treasure finds: sugar rush

Todays treasure finds are a little off from what I've been trying to do, but only because it was a treasure find for me!  I have built an incredible relationship with Seventeen magazine and their accessories department that I'm so very proud of and each time an item I created in my little studio is featured, its still like the first time.

I knew they used the Tennessee Tulip for a spread, but tonight I was surprised when I found it on Bonnie from Flashes of Style!  She is an adorable fashion blogger who rocks floral crowns like they grow from her head, obviously thats my type of girl!

Seeing bloggers making more of a presence in magazines, showing off real girl style, makes me so incredibly happy.  Collaborating on projects like these are the best and seeing that this is a part of my job makes me realize how going after my dreams- really was worth it.

So here's to the real girls, doing big things and being proud of it!

hello yellow!

Today my hilarious blog friend Erin is taking over!
Hello there pretty ladies : )
My name is Erin and I write over at Living In Yellow.
If it is after 5 pm, you can find me in this position 99% of the time.

Now I am not saying I’m an alcoholic. I just like to have a glass. Or two. Of wine. Nightly.
I also try to stay consistent on eating macaroni and cheese at least three times a week.
It’s important to have goals girls. Don’t forget it.
Anyhow, you can learn more about me over here.
Today I am here to talk to you fashionistas about the latest clothing trends.
This is actually quite funny because I do not consider myself a trendy person.
And now that I think about it,  I prefer not to wear any clothes at all given the choice.
That was a joke people.
Or was it?
Anyhow, back to what I was saying—Everything I know about fashion comes from blogs, Pinterest, and from my friend who owns her own boutique.
God bless Blogs, Pinterest, and clothing boutique owning friends. Amen? Amen.

Without further ado, I present to you my 7 favorite looks for Spring and Summer.

1.  Bold Jewelry on Soft Colors.
Sometimes ya just gotta pop. Right now my favorite combo of this is yellow with turquoise.
Love love and love.

2.  Color blocking.
I'm sure you've all seen this by now. At first I had mixed emotions.
Now I'm kinda diggin' it. Especially when it comes to bright pinks and oranges.

3. Colored Pants.
Especially yellow colored pants ;)
How can your legs not feel happy when they are adorned in these all day? Exactly.
Pair those colored pants with bright, bold colors. It's Spring ladies, don't be afraid to go all out in the color department. I am loving yellows with corals at the present moment. Add in a nice pop of blue and you can't go wrong.

4.  White Tees paired with fun accesories.
Lets face it ladies. Sometimes the only thing we want to throw on is a tee shirt. I love me some tees. Unfortunately, plain tees alone can be a little boring. Wanna jazz it up? Throw on some chunky jewelry, bright heels, a pair of boyfriend jeans, and bam. You are set for a night out on the town.

5. Green & Gold.
I'm not sure what it is about these two colors together but I'm currently hooked. You can make this color combo look classy, or you can give it a playful look. I think they call this multifunctional? Your right. I should stop acting like I know what I am talking about.

6. Blazers with shorts.
Blazers are such a winter piece, however...you can quickly carry this look into Spring and Summer by just topping a cute pair of shorts with it. Especially a bright fun colored blazer. Unfortunately, I am without one at the present moment. But this gives you an idea of what it could look like. Yes? No?

7. Nautical
Ahhhh, timeless, timeless, timeless. I love me some nautical anything. Reds, Blues, Whites, I am hooked. You'd think I live in America or something. Oh right, I do.

And there you have it friends.
Which look are you diggin’ the most?
Do tell.
And then come say what’s up over here.
I would love to get to know you :)
Thank you Heather for being amazing as always.
Now go live it up kids.

The sickness of being wedding obsessed doesn't stop at having your own wedding, it lasts forever.  And I'm not ashamed.

*on a side note I would like to announce the new shoe clip design
that will be debuting next weekend in the shop*

here comes the bride..

I'm coming up on my two year wedding anniversary so I have been done with the planning for a while..but maybe since I'm also a photographer I find it ok if I have a small unhealthy  lovely relationship with perusing wedding blogs and all that in entails.. but is anyone else excited for the Antropologie-Urban Outfitters wedding dress launch? (or is it just me!?)

oh em gee..

Could the new Red Velvet Lookbook be anymore prettier??

I have been following the Red Velvet girls blog for years, I actually found them when I was planning my wedding and got so bored I just started googling for craft blogs and found theirs.  I remember thinking how amazing it would be to find friends who had the same interests and passions as me that could do something like this, minus the drama and egos.. and they did.  I was so excited when they announced the opening of their new online shop (and their new dress line this spring) and when this lookbook was ready, my heart literally skipped a beat!

if only they picked a better name..

This next post is about something really cute & genius, but with the silliest name on earth.
Ok let me start off by saying that I understand the concept of condoms (insert lol here) but in this situation it just sounds so tacky and it sorta sucks (no pun intended) because this item is adorable and something I would buy.  But when I run a scenario through my head about wearing one of these it goes like this..

Walking down the street in my adorable heels when stopped by a fashionable girl that squeals "omg your shoes are amazing, where did you get them from" I say oh the shoes themselves are "(insert your brand here)" and the cute thing attached is called a "Heel Condom" yeah.....

See what I mean? Funny, yet completely ridiculous!
Anyways they are adorable there is no doubt about that and here for your viewing pleasure is a little bit of Heel Condom Porn if you will..

*EDIT UPDATE* this post is not to be mean, I support all artists and their visions. I also would never intentionally hurt anyways feelings, but since its my blog and my opionions I state them.  I love the product I just wish it had a different name, that is all.
And now back to your regularly scheduled program..

lets be dumb together, if only for a minute.

Do you ever just have one of those days when you are alone,
you do something so ridiculously stupid thank god no one saw and then its so funny that you have to share it?

Well I had that moment today.

I found a super too cute for words, yet i will type words to tell you about it place!
Seriously so sweet you want to eat accessories and just in time for Valentines (although I would sport the crap out of this stuff all year long!) Anyways I found her blog first and browsed a good 15min or more, which happened to be in some random language that I was completely unfamiliar with, given that I only know English and a couple things in Spanish like "donde esta el bano" and "chocolate" < because that's an easy one to remember! So as I browse the site with my OOOhhhhsss and AAAAhhhhs I can only imagine what the words mean. Probably how if you buy one of these gorgeous little rings with a slice of cake on it, that a real slice of cake would come with your package hand delivered by some guy in no shirt (of course I would have to arrange for shipping to be when my husband is at work so that I can sign for said package). Anyways I browse the site and find a couple of English thingies and miraculously find my way to her shop, probably because the word etsy stuck out like a sore thumb! As I browse her site I decide to check back to the blog and add it to my favorites when low and behold I discover a little thing at the top of the page that my computer has done for me (it must have felt bad at how dumb I looked), a translate button.. holy moly you can translate things!!! I thought you had to buy a computer in a different country or install some language package.. nope. =( I'm just an idiot that's all.

BUT!!! an idiot who found these lovelies.. and a story to share with you on how making a mistake can lead to something great!
 Umm cute?? YES.

its an anthropologie kind of day...

Since my other job is a photographer any form of film interests me.. I'm in love with 8mm and cant wait to add it to my business this year!  This film from Anthropologie is 8mm inspired and I'm loving it!  Never have trailers, tire swings and the desert looked so good.

Have you also seen the spring 2011 window displays they have going on ?
I love how they used the things that help them make their clothes in a way to
display their clothes..
personal fav are those hangers strung up by fabric!

and since I cant stop this Anthropolgie kick I wanted to share their online space
 The Anthropologist, featuring monthly artists!

I will always love these images by Amira Fritz for no reason other then their strange beauty.
