that break.

Ever since launching the shop, it seems as if life has been non-stop.  With the newness of doing business again, pop-up shops, gaining retailers, the holidays, the after the holidays, life, coffee breaks and everything in between- I guess I lost touch with this space.

The break though, it was good.  And maybe a bit needed because I think I forgot what I was doing here, what this platform served for me and if there was any worth or matter to it.  Even though life has been a bit of a roller coaster as of late, this place stays on my mind and a little refocus was exactly what I needed.

I don't want to continue doing what I was before, mainly because I was always reaching for content instead of just following my heart.  This new path will be about sharing the places I explore around my city (Portland), the makers I meet, the stories I get to hear, my not so glamorous work life (I'm covered in dust or soy wax 90% of the time).. thats what I want for this space.

I hope to have more of this stuff pop up here in the next month and can't wait to share it.  What I do and see everyday might not be important to anyone else, but if you stick around I sure would love to have you here. xx

that thirties club

I think that the 30s are a weird time.  To me anyways, it seems like the point where dreams start to become reality- some hopes fade away.  Insecurities come back around, but in a way where they aren't as dramatic as they were in my 20's.  Things that bring me joy are much more simple.  A clean house, a good song on pandora, the smell of a new candle, making a good meal, breathtaking sunsets, a coffee date with a friend,  a good hike (oh that sweet mountain air!) or finding a new show to watch with my husband.  The most simple, silly and oh so fulfilling things that I wouldn't trade for anything.  I'd never give up those young mistakes I made that got me here, but getting lost was always the fun part anyways right?

life lately

I'm trying as much as I can to get settled in our new place, but with so many ideas for projects rolling around in my brain, its been hard to focus, unpack or even rest.  I'm okay with that though because it just keeps me busy and seeing the end result of all the crazy ideas I keep coming up, sounds more fun anyway!  This last weekend my mom came up to visit and help me with a couple of the projects I wanted to tackle.  It was the first time she has visited without my dad and for longer that two days ( I had her for almost 5!) and we tried to stuff as many things into each day as possible.

We hit up the Milwaukie Farmers Market, which is one of my top favorite markets up here (i vote it 2nd to psu), its so adorable and packed with goodies- plus its just 5 minutes from my house.  I showed her a few shops I adore, took her to the pearl, we ate all the foods and each day tried to explore as much as possible for the first half of the day.  The second half, well into late night, was spent working on the house.  I mentioned on instagram that I wanted to have open cabinets and paint my kitchen white and I'm happy to say, with her help, its almost done.  It's my first project as a home owner and I can't wait to share the progress!

With my husband being gone in Peru still and my mom visiting without my dad, we took full advantage of having a girls weekend.  It was exactly what I needed to feel just a bit more settled.  Having my mom see our new house for the first time, feeling comfy in our home and having the first official guest... I think I can get used to this!

Thats life lately, hows yours?

life lately

Well I took a good week off from everything (work/blog) to get us moved over and semi-sorta settled into our new place.  Moving from an airstream to a condo was one thing, moving from a condo to a much larger house was another.  We definitely have the bare minimum, yet somehow I have never felt so full.  Last night we got all cozied up with the pups and put on a movie, as I was laying there surrounded by boxes in our mostly empty space, it hit me that we bought a freaking house.  Still a little weird and amazing all at once.

For the most part- the move has been taking up a good chunk of our time around here.  Its fun to have something new to focus on that means so much to us.  I took most of the year off that we lived in the condo from purchasing too much decor to save money and because I knew we would't be there long, but I can't wait to start consciously bringing in items that will have meaning to us (like the terrarium I made above).  Brandon leaves again this next week to work in Peru for a month and I plan on using that time to get a few home projects done (which includes lots of paint), setting up my studio and launching my new shop!

Thats life lately, hows yours?

keeping with tradition

Lately I've been drawn to a more traditional approach to modern living, while incorporating a taste for a handed down style of skill that works with where I'm at in my life.  I briefly discussed it yesterday on an instagram post and thought I would talk about it a little bit more here.  I crave making things that last, surrounding myself with an intentional atmosphere and living an all around meaningful daily life.  I think I owe those small desires to the women in my family who made a home and passed down those memories and skills to me.

Not until I actually opened up a shop and started selling my own line of items did I scrutinize so much what I was doing.  I was influenced by what my customers wanted, what my peers were doing and who I thought I needed to be that I wasn't happy with what I was creating.  After some time to self-reflect, I've been able to find what I lost along the way. I took a year off to find what was missing (more on that later) and I found that I grew away from appreciating what I was so lucky to learn.  Handed down traditions and skills that make for a pretty damn good life, so I brought them back and I found me again.

For as long as I can remember our family had huge gardens, we preserved summers' haul to keep us through the winters and we gifted others with canned goods that we knew they would appreciate and share with their own families.  When it came to clothing, we thrifted, we had hand me downs and for special occasions we accompanied my grandmother to the fabric shop to pick out our very own patterns for what would be sewn into some unique duds.  Slippers and hats were crocheted with yarn, a large floor loom crafted so many blankets and rugs, even little dresses for our barbies were made with lace and pearls.  We weren't just making do with what we had- we were enjoying the process of making, spending time together, creating memories and living a simple life.  The things we did then, I'm doing now, minus the barbie dresses.

I've seen a surge in this style that has become a little trendy and that's okay because those of us that grew up on it just get to enjoy it again.  I want what I do to have meaning, to be respected and most of all be something I can pass down someday too.  I want to keep with tradition.

Its Thanksgiving here in the states and it always serves as a reminder to be thankful everyday, not just one.

See you next week, xo.

courage to follow

I've touched on it a few times before, the name game.  What it means and how it relates to you, it can be tricky.  To be known as something rather than someone.  To be branded.  When I started my accessories company in 2010 I already had a blog url that was a test blog for my photography business, it was just where I popped in images and tweaked the code a little so it would format correctly on my very confusing layout I had with a different platform.  I figured I was making things and the name was cute, not much thought went into it and its been one of my biggest regrets.  I tried working with Just Lovely Things the best I could and even shortened it up and had a cute customized url when I rebranded to JustLove.ly.  Still, it never felt honest and it never felt like me.

This year has been nothing short of a learning experience and one aspect that keeps coming back to everything I do is asking myself how I can continue doing something, when it just doesn't jive.  Moving up here to Portland was a huge step in the direction I wanted my life to go.  Simplifying business interests by selling Love Club and closing Fawn & Flora was another and going a year without releasing any new collections for JustLove.ly was the break I needed to tell myself it was okay to step away from the business and remember who I was, what I loved and what I wanted to do for me.

Its okay to feel lost, tired (oh so tired), broken & bored and choosing to explore these feelings rather than sweeping them under the rug has been one of the best things I could do for myself and my livelihood.  Finding me was the next step.  Aspen Summit means so much more than I could explain that would make sense to anyone else, but it feels like everything I've ever needed to be able to move forward with the business side of myself and the personal side of my own passions.  I'm Heather- wife, daughter, sister, friend and Aspen Summit is everything else.

To share just a bit more so you aren't in the dark- the name is actually the street I live on, my first place in Portland. Aspen trees are native to the north and grow in colonies, they can survive fires and produce new growth. When they do die, their roots stay and can produce new trunks.  The word Summit means a point that is higher than all other surrounding points.

I like to think of the name as a journey.  A climb in which I leave my mark.

I hope you stick around for a few new changes, all good ones- I promise!  I'm slowly catching everything up to where my mind has been these last few months so it will take a bit to switch things out.  My new online market though, I'm taking my time with and will probably open it after enjoying the rest of this beautiful season and the holidays with my family.  Something as simple as taking time off like this is something I haven't done in years, its okay to say no even if its to yourself.  Thanks for listening. xo

something

Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you're there. It doesn't matter what you do, he said, so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that's like you after you take your hands away. -Ray Bradbury

I read this today and immediately was drawn to how simple yet powerful & true it is.  Lately all I've been craving is to live a meaningful life and this came at a good time.  This year has been like nothing I can remember experiencing as far as personal change goes.  I'm surprised daily by the way my thoughts and intentions have been evolving and causing this new growth in my own foundation.

I'm the kind of person that gets sick to my stomach when the subject of death comes up, but this change has me feeling a little more at ease when I think of it in a new way such as living a meaningful life rather than dwelling on an inevitable end.  The time we have here is so very very precious and I just want to make sure what I'm doing (although I know not life changing) is something I'm proud of.  Its so easy to get wrapped up in all the things that everyone else is doing and let my own day pass me by and who's to say there's anything wrong with that, but I know when its all said and done- living through someone elses life does nothing for me so this little mark I can make, I want to find it.

lately...

If you follow me on instagram (@justlove_ly) you know I've been completely emerged in fall up here in the Pacific Northwest.  The weather change brings cozy clothes, raining days and lots of yummy recipes to try- like this apple crumble I made last week! I try to enjoy this season as much as possible because it tends to go by so quickly.  I'm not ready for 2014 so everyday I try to hold on to the hours just a bit more and capture everything that makes my heart happy.

Brandon has been in Peru since late September and he gets to come home tomorrow for his 2 week work break.  We randomly found a farm for sale about an hour north of Portland that we are checking out this weekend. What...?! Sometimes the ideas we come up with are so crazy and far fetched, but its fun to dream.  Other than that its chill days and trying to stay warm.  xo

let us fall

I know so many people say that fall is their favorite season ::raises hand::, but truly why wouldn't it be?  I like the calm, the gray, the comfort of it all.  My birthday is in November, so from the get go I was destined to be an autumn baby.  Something about the season change always sparks some sort of change in my personal life as well.  Its the time when I'm most at peace with myself and creative when it comes to projects, home, business etc.

I told myself that as soon as autumn was upon us I needed to slow down and I did.  I've had so many things on my mind lately when it comes to my present, my future, dreams, goals.  Really what it is I'm doing and why I do it.  I truly believe in enjoying moments and not trying to make them, so in an effort to really practice what I preach I allowed myself a break from it all.  I didn't do things just to turn them into a blog post, I didn't go places just to share a photo on instagram- I lived them, enjoyed them and will privately remember them.  Don't get me wrong, I still have things to share (like the photos above), but with a little more clarity, selectiveness and a lot more intention.

Lately with the over satuation of shop after shop, blog after blog, conference after conference- you get the idea.  I have been asking myself- did we all want to grow up and 'be a blogger', be self employed, make handmade items.  Is it just the cool thing to do?  Is the obsession with the modern celebrity and the desire for fame and fortune- or even recognition, the new american dream?  I'm not sure where I fall into any of it, or why I'm even blabbering.  I guess I just want to always seek out authenticity while portraying the same.  I want to be keep shit real and enjoy whatever ride this new season brings.

Its always change and change is good.

I know its not Autumn everywhere (happy summer, southern hemisphere friends!), so in general- what are you looking forward to for this new season?

living with intention

I've always had things.  Not in a privileged sort of way, but in a work my ass that I like to see rewards kind of way.  I have never been a shopaholic (its not my therapy), I don't care about name brands or expensive foods- nothing wrong with that, just not my thing.  However, I like good deals, little trinkets, old stuff & trying new things and so that's what I tend to buy.  In an effort to always make every place we lived feel like a home even with things we've had since college, you can imagine I accumulated a lot.  Thats when the idea happened. One year ago we sold (practically) everything we owned and moved out to my parents farm to live in an airstream.

We kept 4 boxes of items, clothes we still liked, our tv & all of my studio (because I still needed to work!).  Everything else was carried away by friends and strangers at a yard sale we quickly put together.  I remember being nervous, but as things sold I wanted to gather more and get rid of it too.  Now when I think back, I can hardly remember the things we had.  Of course we have new things here, but our plan was simple-  Start new- save - pay off & move.  Which we did.

Its been about six months since we moved up to Portland and although I already want to live closer in to the city and have a different house my attitude towards material items has changed.  Every purchase I make has a little more thought, I save as much as I can and even just started a new little budget last week that totally put me in check!  I still thrift and try to snag things that I know I will love and use with intention, especially if its unique and can stand the test of time.

One thing that was never touched when we did all this, was my work space.  Over the months every time I try to do anything in my office/studio/whatever you call it- I've felt anxiety over the amount of things I was holding on to.  I would try to unpack and come to stuff that I thought I would use someday- which really is like buying a pair of jeans you might fit in to.  Yep done that too.  It was all so overwhelming that I would pack up a little box and head downstairs to work in my living room.  So for 6 months I have used my work space maybe twice, but when we decided to close Fawn & Flora last month a huge part of that decision came from me not wanting so many things.things.things.  This weekend I had a huge instagram sale for the remaining inventory I had, the rest that I didn't list is all getting donated and I think I might go back through my "keep" pile just to really think about what I need my choices for.  I've done this in other areas of my life, I mean okay Pinterest is a little adjustment- but even that stressed me out. I want less clutter, I want more intent, I want less crap and more quality goods.  I want a clear life and mind and spirit and heart and I think I'm on my way there.

oh hai

What was supposed to be a week long break, ended up at two and I won't lie.. it was glorious! Seriously so much has happened in the last couple of weeks that I needed to just enjoy the ride.

My mind needed some breathing room!

So whats been going on around these parts?  If you follow me on instagram you can get a good idea, but basically- I picked up a new side job so that I'm no so isolated at my house, I've been looking for studio space in downtown Portland to feel more inspired & work with other creative types and I've been exploring like crazy!  Its a hobby to adventure out and see new places, I can never get enough of just looking at things!

I hope your summer is going great, whats new?

b.r.e.a.k

I'm a firm believer in taking a break. Refreshing my thought process, finding balance and reigniting the love for things I can sometimes get burnt out on.  I'm taking the week to find more inspiration, add a new adventure to my career life & enjoy this weather- with no forced responsibility of coming up with content, falling along with others or really having any plans.  Summer breaks are meant to be fun- so this week I'm taking mine!  Be back just in time to share another set of weekend links xo

a portrait of strangers

A few years ago I was with my family at the Oregon Coast Aquarium and had recently purchased my Canon 5d, so I was eager to take as many photos of anything and everything that caught my attention. I remember we were in the Passages of the Deep and my husband was standing across from this couple looking through the glass.  The exhibit was full and busy, my parents and grandparents quickly moved on through and my husband wandered off before the herd of screaming children ran though.

In all the chaos this couple just sat and observed and although I couldn't stand still long enough to witness whatever they were, this picture of the strangers always reminds me of that day.  I have no idea who they are and most likely never will, but they were beautiful and made a memory for me that I will never forget.

Three /// Things: managing busy changes

Oh friends I have missed you so.  It has been a little more hectic than planned around here with the move, but isn't that the way it goes?  Its funny how much change can happen in a short amount of time, four hours from our previous home and its a completely different world here.  Add busy on top of this change and its another story!

I once heard that 'busy is a matter of choice' and that still rings true whenever I hear it mentioned.  Lately I've been learning how to manage my own busy while adjusting to change at the same time.  Here a few things that I've implemented-

Plan and be okay with the unplanned.
Its easy to make a plan, but sometimes things can happen where your plan may stray off course and being okay with that will make things so much easier.  We were supposed to have internet the day we moved here, that meant I planned on getting right to work the day after the move.  Four days later and still no connection put a dent in my plan, but I used that time to rest from the move, explore the city a little more and enjoy the down time. I try to come up with ideas or plans and get a little input from others, that way maybe if I'm missing something they can open my eyes and we can find a better way to do things.  When things don't work exactly like planned, the way you handle it can make a world of difference.  Although I am a set goals type of girl, I'm also very much a go with the flow type too.  Things happen, its not the end of the world.  Breathe, smile and make the most of it.  If you need to then make plans B, C & D if plan A fails.

Give what you can, but don't give your all.
I know that I love giving 110% in everything I do, but lately I've found that giving that much to something means I'm not giving much at all to anything else.  When I want to focus my attention on something I have found that neglecting other things can make the situation more stressful.  Big jobs, deadlines, orders.. etc. they all need to be done, but so does taking a shower, walking the dog, housework and so much more.  I would never give myself to only 10% of each thing, that would make me scatter brained and things would come out half ass.  But giving myself to just one thing means I have a huge pile of other things right behind it.  The best thing I have done for myself is to take breaks to refocus and allow me time that means I will do things the right way, instead of doing things with a fogged up mind.  I didn't schedule blog posts when we moved (as you obviously know) and I feel horrible because I have advertisers counting on me to work for them.  I lowered my prices knowing the move was coming and I hooked them up with extra time on their ads to show them that I'm still here.  However, if I gave all of myself to worry about this situation- I wouldn't have been able to focus on our move and things in my own life.  I found time to write them quick notes and was able to give what I could to my business and personal life without neglecting either.

Be open to the new.
Everything around me feels so new and exciting right now and I know that will pass, but the spark of inspiration is something I hope won't burn out anytime soon.  For myself I need visuals to be stimulated enough to do something.  Browsing a vintage store, going for a walk, flipping through a magazine or even popping over to Pinterest are all ways that visually take care of me.  If we do the same things every day we are putting ourselves in the direct path of finding a rut to fall in.  Don't find the rut (if you do its okay), but try to avoid it!  Try something new, anything.  Go to tea with a friend instead of happy hour, leisurely browse a shop with ample time to soak it all in instead of popping in just for a quick purchase, visit the library or a near by coffee shop to get online instead of sitting in your house.  Whatever it is try something new and be ready to be inspired.  If you can't control change, then make changes where you can.

Managing or making changes while taking breaks from busy have been a huge part in keeping myself calm and allowing me to enjoy every moment of it.

I'd love to know- How do you manage change or being busy?

its happening

I mentioned last week that we had a plan and now that its getting closer to moving time, I feel like Ron Burgundy in a glass case of emotion.

I'm excited to have our own space again, to wake up in my own bed and walk around with no pants on (you do that too right?).  I'm nervous because I will be alone for almost a week before Brandon gets home, he's never even seen the place I picked out for us!  I'm sad because I have relationships (my girls) here that I took for granted and now I'm moving away from them to a place where I only know a few people.  I'm happy to know I will feel inspired again.  I'm eager for the newness of it all.  I'm upset every time I see my mom cry, which is every day over little things.

But mostly- I'm ready.

I forwarded our address this morning and when I typed in Portland, I couldn't help but pause for a moment while realizing we are actually making this idea happen. The new place is officially ours today, but I had so many obligations this week with my businesses, I didn't want to stress- so I'm making my way up Friday or Saturday.  Since the bulk of our belongings is just my studio (& its already packed up) the move should be pretty damn easy.  Isn't it funny, I was freaking out about getting out of here and now I'm just 'whatever.

Silly me.

..we had a plan

If you have been around for a bit, follow me on instagram or know me personally then you know that last fall we (the husband and I) made a big life change.  Today I want to sort of catch you up on that, share something from my heart and encourage you to be thankful for whatever situation you are in.

Its no secret that this little town I live in is not for me.  It never was and never will be, but I'm the type of person that can make do and so it is what it is.  This is the place we came when my mom remarried and we moved up from Southern California when I was 13.  I only stayed 4 short years before skipping out as quickly as possible to go to college away from here.  However, it was still always home.  Seven years later I found myself back here with my boyfriend I met while living away and we started a life.  I opened a salon, made a couple good friends, got hitched, found new hobbies, grew closer to my parents and so much more!  But I'm a creature of change and for a good two years I have needed & wanted out.

Towards the end of last summer we knew we wanted to move and were so close, but then my husband dropped a bombshell of an idea on me.  His brilliant plan? To sell ALL of our belongings, live in a vintage airstream on my parents property and move by our anniversary, a six month plan.  I've mentioned before that I ugly cried profusely,  but in the end took it like a champ.  So with keeping just my studio, our cars, a tv and 4 boxes of personal possessions, we set this plan in motion- our goal: to save and live a simple life.

I won't lie, its hard.  So far is actually been one of the most emotionally draining experiences to date.  I love my parents very very much, but sometimes I wonder if this situation will ruin that.  Seriously.  Living with your parents as an adult, as they age is an experience that is very hard to explain (mom don't get upset that I'm being honest here!). I feel the burden of being the last kid to move away from them for good and am sad about that. I miss the small luxuries, like alone time and my own bed.  My studio is out in my parents remodeled garage and I have more space than before, but lets face it- its a garage.  I have figured out how to make the best of it and even set up a mini-living room in here- seriously Hulu, Netflix & Pandora, thank you.

What I wanted to share with you is a little bit about the unexpected.  While my studio isn't ideal, its what I have and I've been accomplishing more than I thought I could here.  I have made bigger partnerships, plans and achievements from this situation and this space I make work than any pretty little studio could have given me.  When I look in front of me and see my little shipping center or inventory, glance to the left at my books and inspiration and then to the right a big garage door- it makes me appreciate every thing I'veever had or any thing I will ever obtain.  In keeping with honesty- I still get extremely upset when all I want is a house or question this plan when it seems like too much, but today we met our goal (financially) 4 weeks earlier than expectyed and I realize how worth it, it all was.  Yesterday one of my headbands was featured in Seventeen magazine, today my shop was featured on the Elle Magazine Spain blog.  Its amazing and I get to see it all happening as I sip on some tea my mom made while wearing slippers that are a must on cold concrete floors.  I saw these accomplishments of mine from the comforts of a garage you guys- nothing more nothing less.

Sure it may sound silly when you think that some great start ups started in a garage, amazing bands have practiced in them and some people turn them into craft spaces.  That part isn't my point, instead its to share that when a not so ideal situation is placed in front of you, to make the best of it will be more challenging and rewarding then anything else.

In a few weeks we will be moving to Portland to start all over and I mean completely over, we don't have furniture, appliances.. anything!  I'm anxious to start exploring a new city and make new connections in a place where I feel I belong just a bit better.  Our plan changed a little and we will rent for a year or so until we pick a neighborhood to buy a home, we applied for a place this week and its just one step closer to seeing this goal through!

With the power of being connected online we see other peoples lives all day long and its hard not to wish the things we see them doing, were things we could do too.  Just don't forget that we all have private lives and struggles we don't always share, really who wants to see the bad stuff?  When life hands you lemons..

Sure I don't want to be here, but here is where some amazing things have happened.  I know I won't ever do this again and for that I'm thankful.  But for the learning experience that has taught me to be patient, humble and optimistic- I will always be grateful.  When we move away I know this will always be home and thats the best part.

my january

The first month of 2013 is just about over (what?! how?!) and one of the greatest things about the time we live in, is being able to capture and share it all.  Last night I was telling my mom something along the lines of trying to be in the moment rather than making one.  It got me thinking that all the little moments all day that seem like nothing much, really do add up to something good.

I've been slowly trying to climb out of that rut I was in and today a combination of things really helped out and encouraged me to reflect on how lucky we are to live this life.
January wasn't the most amazing month of my life, but it wasn't that bad either.  Here are a few things that made it the first month of my 2013.

How was your January?

treasure finds: what's in front of you

We see pretty pictures, diy's, recipes, parties.. happy smiles.  And to be honest its inspiring.  But to be more honest, I've been in my pj's and in a total frump for a few days.  For me sometimes its easier to look at what everyone else is doing instead of going out and doing it too.  I think its okay to be in a rut, but the key to it- is getting yourself out.  Tonight I decided glitter would help (see photo below) and tomorrow I have high hopes for a shower.

I don't really share a lot here about myself except the business stuff and pretty pictures.  Really I try to use this space as an extension for my business and things I find inspiring.  However, shit gets hard sometimes and it feels good to type it all out.  So while on Thursdays I usually share my treasure finds, today I want to appreciate whats in front of me, vent about the rut I put myself in and get over it.

So whats on my mind lately?  Where do I start..

I was supposed to be at AltSummit this week and its an obvious bummer that I had to skip the trip when I had a free ticket (yeah yeah I know, stupid me.), but its ok I'm living vicariously through the #altsummit feeds and running our social media for Passionfruitads.  Love Club just about kicked my ass again and I made a huge announcement that I will shut it down in June.  But I'm having second thoughts if this is the way to go.  Another stress is that I applied to be a speaker at Snap and I'm hoping hoping hoping I get chosen.  Send some good ju-ju my way on this please!

Personal wise- Brandon is working in Peru and we actually couldn't talk at all for almost a week, which when you don't talk to your significant other (text/call/email/nada) it almost feels like they don't exist.  Enter weird mood here.  Thankfully I heard his voice, cried and then remembered I was indeed still married.  Our house hunting ordeal is still up in the air as we just can't find the right place, but my fingers are crossed and I'm hoping to be in Portland in a few weeks!

Oh you guys, this is the best part of being in a rut (sarcasm yes).  My mom is a dope chef, yep dope.  I can't turn the lady and her treats down (I'm positive she wants me to be fat and miserable) and for that reason I have gained about 15lbs since October.  Yikes maybe this is why I'm in my pjs?? Friends this rut is real and whats hard is having responsibilities while still having 'me time'.  Its a reason a week away from here was for the best.  I want to keep it real, I have issues too and although we measure what is going on in our lives differently none of us have perfect.

Don't get me wrong for the love of Ryan Gosling I'm ok.  Just rut-ish and I needed to get that out.

wednesday is whack

I've decided to rename Wednesdays usual title of Hump-Day to Slump-Day.  If I had a day to choose as being my least favorite, I guess I would go with today.  I get through my weeks just fine and as Monday rolls around I'm either tired and not ready or I'm super motivated to start up again.  Tuesday kind of plays catch up with whatever rolled over from the Monday to-do list.  However, Wednesday is another story.  Its too far from Monday to still be catching up and no where close to Friday.  I like Saturday, thats a good one.

Also I'm getting sick and it happens to be Wednesday, so thats my excuse for rambling.

How is your week?
