“It is a good rule after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between.” ― C.S. Lewis
There is an old building downtown that houses a used book store. Everytime I visit, my first breath in is always my favorite. It smells old, but in a way that is good.
Paper, leather, wood from the shelves... memories.

Its not that far from my house and I take it for granted all the time!
DeleteAmazing! I love bookstores :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, my idea of a pretty chill fri/sat night includes a coffee and Barnes & Noble!
DeleteI can smell the old books! Love it =)
ReplyDeleteDid you take these with your photo or you camera? Do you ever get weird looks in stores when you are taking photos with your DSLR (if that's what you are using)? I always am too intimidated unless I can be sure no one is around haha.
I took these with my camera and usually I ask people if they mind or not =)
DeleteLove books, what great pics!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOld books are so great. I have so many of them, but I'm look for an old hard back version of "The Velveteen Rabbit." I want it so bad!

I'm in love!! I love books, all kinds, every kind! I recently went into a used bookstore here in town that relocated. Two stories of old book. They have old Nancy Drews and original Little Golden Books. The smell, the books, the people... So wonderful! Thanks for these great pics too!
ReplyDeleteI love books and the smell of them! Old books look amazing, with no pictures on the front, they have that antique feel about them :)

Lovely pictures! I love old book stores - I always feel so wholesome and very old-timey when I visit one. And sometime I want to break out in song like Belle from Beauty & the Beast! Getting lost in a book is one of my favorite past times! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a book addict...so this post and photos just made my morning!
ReplyDeleteLove the C.S Lewis quote =) And love the book pics!
ReplyDeleteWow, this place is so dreamy :]
ReplyDeleteI love bookshops! It makes me so sad when I read statistics about how they think everything will be digitally printed in the next 5 years. Don't get me wrong, I love trees, but I also am addicted to print! I want to be able to hold it in my hands and flip through it year after year, not load up my laptop every time I want to read a book!
ReplyDeleteOooh... I am in love! With... it all!!! (Yep, I'm gushing) Found you via Instagram wanderings and am so happy I clicked over to check out you blog too!
ReplyDeleteLove second hand books and all the magic, history, and stories they hold - both written and also captured in all the spaces like a little vault of mystery... I always wonder about their past owners and readers and the path they've travelled to my hands!
Fab... Now I'm off to sticky about your blog some more :-))))
