Thrift Shops - Yard Sales - Antique Stores
{aka my therapy}
Sometimes I leave empty handed and that's ok- I like to get out of the house and just look at things. My favorite places are the antique shops. They usually have old music playing and are full of memories, something about it makes me very happy. I'm also a huge fan of yard sales, only because I like to haggle prices and I'm a nosey person so seeing other peoples homes -how they decorate, what kind of junk they have..etc- helps with that. What about you, whats your therapy?
I think my therapy is reading and writing - it's when I relax the most.
ReplyDeleteI do love how you described the reasons why you love antiquing though - it inspires me to pop into the next shop I see :)
I don't know what that last pic on the left is, but I want it!
ReplyDeleteSitting and drinking coffee and reading or watching something on my DVR when the kids are napping or being outside in my flower beds!
Oh my does that place look amazing. Love the sugar, tea and coffee jars and those drawers would certainly have made a trip home with me!
ReplyDeletehaha I love going to garage sales for those reasons too!
ReplyDeleteI love thrifting and yard sales too! I try to go to a thrift store once a week and then my family and I yard sale every Saturday morning.
ReplyDeleteI've started a Weekend Treasures series of the goodies we find from our Saturday morning outing.

Just yesterday I was driving home and feeling enormously depressed, so I went to the local antique and flea mall and I found myself feeling better. I had no money, but I had a great time. I think it's definitely my therapy.
ReplyDeleteAnd that places DOES look amazing!

Are those pictures all from the same place? If so you've got quite a goldmine out there.
ReplyDeleteUhhh, the sewing chest thingy, was at a thrift store near me last week. Looked identical but was more orange than yellow.
ReplyDeleteHow weird?! It looked handmade to me :P
xoxo
I love thrifting as well! It's definitely fun to find items with a lot of character and history. I like to imagine what kind of life the previous owner would have lead.

ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could go with you!:) It is my therapy too...and these ones look so fun!
ReplyDeleteI really want to press my face against the window looking in at all the cubbies of vases and glass stuff... my therapy is shopping... any kind!
ReplyDeleteI could pretty much spend ALL day in thrift stores. There are a lot of really cool ones in Elizabethtown and Banner Elk in North Carolina. I think these stores have so much character!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally swooning over the set of little sewing drawers. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy therapy would be reading, shopping at the craft store and creating things with my finds. Beading is probably the most relaxing thing for me to do.
Oh, man the thrift stores around here SUCK!! I m dying for the glitter and sewing drawers. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteSoooo...I moved to Grants Pass. Well, technically. I'm barely in the '27 zip code, but we're in Rogue River. Heather, where oh where should I go first?
