Thrifting Thursday

Now that I'm moving to a larger home, I need to find more things to fill the place up with.  This means my love for thrifting and antiquing will be a little more justified!  I love sharing my thrifting adventures with you and a few days ago I visited a few favorite local spots and a new place I'm loving, just to see what's out there.  Since the inventory in these places can change quite often I try to visit as much as I can so that I don't miss out on any sweet little treasures.

I ended up finding some stuff for the pretty things section of our Fawn and Flora shop which seems to sell out quickly!  I also found a couple of knick knacks for the built in bookshelves in our den at the new place and a couple of decor items for the studio.. which I will show off when it's all done!  I'm liking up with Harpers Happenings again for her High on Thrifting Thursday series, if you have any posts to link up you should do so.. I would LOVE to see them!

I like the smell of old things

Take that title how you want it, but it's true. =) Give me something old that has seen more years then me and I'm.in.heaven.  I could spend hours upon hours (& longer) browsing antique shops, flea markets, yard sales and thrift stores.  I would consider it to be my meditation and something I try to do as often as possible.

When the idea for Fawn & Flora was starting to come together Dana and I knew we wanted to have a section for vintage finds and pretty things.  Although there are new items in that part of our shop, we try to add in vintage when possible and searching for the best quality of items is probably the coolest thing, since it's something I already love to do!  The other day I needed out of the house really bad, like step away from the internet-catch my breath-get a tall coffee & calm down- kind of bad.. and the antique shops and thrift stores ended up being my besties when I needed them most! I only had my phone with me, as taking photos was not my priority reasoning behind this trip.  I did manage to take a few though..

I scored tons of amazing things to add to my personal collection (like the little deer!), lots and lots of sewing notions, stamps & fabric.  Plus some beautiful items I plan on adding to the shop tomorrow!

Today I'm linking up with Mandy over at Harpers Happenings
& Liz at The Blue Eyed Owl for their Thursday Thrifting linky parties!
